Air Cond Recommendation 73 240Z

I have a 73 Z with aftermarket "Frigiking?" A/C–would like to hear
any experience-based recommendations for a new, effective A/C system
for this car. I’m willing to replace whatever’s necessary to get rid
of this old, ineffective system.
Thanks in advance.

Overheating 1994 300ZX

Have a problem with overheating. Have flushed the radiator, checked the
termostate for proper functioning and fan works.

Will overheat (nearly hits top temp mark on gauge) after sitting at one or
two stoplights even in tempatures of 75 to 80 degrees. No problems tooling
down the highway though – stays nice and cool then.

Ideas are appreciated.

1985 300ZX

I recently purchased a 1985 300 ZX and wanted to know if there is a "sub
group" of just 300 ZX owners on this list.  I need a few things for the car
and I’d rather not bomb the whole list if there is a sub group.

Thanks for your help,

Newbie ZX dude ;-)

Hi.

i currently own a 1994 MR2 turbo and am very pleased with the power, but am
looking to buy another car as i’m getting a bit bored with it and want more
power ;-)

I’ve got 9,000 to spend (GBP) so i’m looking to pick up a ZX turbo for 7000
and spend the rest on engine tunning.

I was thinking along the lines of a Dastek Unichip, HKS induction filter, a
full stainless exhaust system, magnecor leads, HKS plugs and an upgrade
intercooler.

Should be looking at 400bhp then?

anyway, when did the zx stop, was it on a J plate (1993?)

What are they like for handling and pure, brutal acceleration?

also, do the turbo models come with any kind of rear seats?

cheers
Matt

binaries?

does anyone know if there’s a way to get this ng to accept binaries? I
wouldn’t mind seeing some pics of various rides around here. It would also
be nice occasionally when dispensing tech advice. Anyone agree/disagree?
Anyone know how to do it? Just a thought.

Need vacuum schematic '78 280Z

I have a ’78 280Z that I bought not running.  Most of the vacuum lines were
removed and lost or thrown.   Does anyone have a vacuum schematic for this.

Also, I can not get it to time with the timing light.  All mechanical marks
are lined up with TDC and the rotor points to the number one position on the
cap, but when I put the light on it the mark falls about 30 degrees before
TDC.  I have to take the bolt out of the distributor to get it timed to the
match with the light, and it runs better if I leave it at 30 BTDC.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

When I bought the car he told me it ran, it just needed a battery.  It ran
but it had the timing chain installed 1 tooth off.  It had two bent valves.
Didn’t cost much to fix but it was a lot of labor.  I am confident that I
have it together right this time and I just had it at a mechanic that
thought  everything looked right also.  He could not figure out the timing
either.

Thanks

Randy

82 280zx Turbo T top seals

I am in the middle of restoring my 1982 280zx turbo and need the T top
body seals. They are no longer available from Nissan and most places
I’ve tried don’t seem to have it either. Anyone know where I might get
them?

water in spare tire well

The other day I discovered an inch or two of water sloshing around in the
spare tire well of my 96 t-top.  The carpet appeared to be dry & unstained.
I was able to remove the little rubber stopper & let the water drain out,
but I can’t figure out how the water got in there.  The car was parked in
the rain for a couple of days, and I drove an hour or so in heavy rain, but
the seal around the hatch looks OK to me.  Any ideas?
