How long to replace rear engine seal.

I have a ’91 2+2 with a leaky (2-8 drops/day) rear engine seal.  How long
does it usually take to get to the seal and put everything back together.
Thanks.

UK Website for 1990+ 300ZX

The UK Z Online website is building up but it can always use more info /
thoughts / questions. So if you have one of these cars or are interested in
them then why not go to www.nick2.demon.co.uk and check out the discussion
page and also the other pages on there. Then stick a note up on the
discussion board introducing yourself. It’s a friendly site and no-one gets
called a thicky !

90 import to UK

Can anyone help answer this …

The car – 1990 300ZX Japanese import to UK.    40K miles.   Full service
history.

The situation – when I initially turn the ignition key, all the cockpit
light come on (for ABS etc) and then after a few seconds go of … just to
let you know the car is happy.   The oil and power lights remain on but I
don’t remember the orange "engine check" light remaining on?   It does go
off when the car has started.

The question – does the orange "engine check" light go off with the ABS and
others or does it remain on until the car has started or do I have to rush
to my newrest dealer?

Thanks in advance – Gary

carbureted 240z hesitates w new 280 engine

Hello 2 z-people,
My wife has a 73 240 with a new rebuilt 280 motor. Carburetion is 72
SU-style carbs. Smog equipt removed. As far as I know, has stock 280
cam. Mechanic assured me carbss would work fine with larger motor.

Problem: rough running and hesitation–I think it’s too lean, because
there’s no black smoke or gas odor. Running is _slightly_ better with
the choke on–which also leads me to believe it’s too lean. My wife says
it runs better when it’s cold. Fuel filter is clean.
Question: is it possible to adjust the mixture on these carbs or do we
need a larger main jet?

Would greatly appreciate hearing from someone who knows how to adjust
these carbs. Please also cc me on this direct.
TIA for any help.

What do you think of the new Z concept?

I was just wondering everyone’s opinion.
